I have been escaping into my workplace, in the basement, from the heat outside. I have some mixed media pieces inspired by drawings done at fishing harbours on the Faeroes and in Scotland. The peeling paint, ropes and nets appeal to me. Ususally there is an abundance of complementary colours – orange from the bouys and rusty chains and turquoise and green from the nets. I have started to translate these pieces into fabric and stitch and at present I am battling with the peeling paint in stitch.
