These two A4 pages were done in a busy square , watching people working, walking and waiting. The figures are tiny, 2-3 cm high and therefore quickly drawn. I made colour notes where needed and added the watercolour back at home. I draw, hardly looking at the paper, trying to catch the most important aspects of the figure. You can nearly get a feel of the age of the person, and their body language. Are they in a hurry or not, are they resting or impatient to move on? You can draw anywhere – and in smaller sketch books – and as with so many other things – Practice does make Perfect.
