This embroidery was sewn on thick felt. I don’t like the feel (or the sound!) of wool and felt, but I am learning to accept this as both materiales have many advantages. I often use tapestry wool for embroidery and embroidering on wool is so forgiving.
This piece was inspired by the sketchbook pages I have shown earlier. It has been made almost entirely using straight stitch or running stitch. the stitches can be short or long and sewn in any direction.
