Sometimes it is necessary to tidy up and yesterday I went through a cupboard where I keep some sketch books and art materiales.
I always carry a small sketchbook with me so I can fill in time when travelling or sitting at the library or in a cafe and make quick sketches in my tiny books. Looking through the cupboard I realised that I had a few of these books where I had used the first pages only. I have now torn these out and collaged them into my book where they will be seen instead of being kept in a cupboard. These are not spectacular drawings in any way – but just another way of training ones power of observation. I often make colour notes and add colour later if time does not permit this on the spot
