Inspired by a workshop to draw like David Hockney (read more over on my blog) I have tried to translate my charcoal sketch of Moens Klint into stitch and fabric. I needed a piece to work on, for my Open Studio Weekend, that could demonstrate the techniques I use when free machining.
I used stitch first to “draw” the main lines and then applied tiny fabric scraps to illustrate the charcoal mark making.
