What to draw – when you don’t know what to draw?

I  was a bit lost for today’s sketchbook pages and then looked at the daily newspaper. There was a bit about the forests of Sweden and so this was collaged into my book, and has been my starting point today. (right hand page) I used a white wax craon under- and over – diluted black ink.

On the very left is a part of an advert for flats, showing the windows. This just happened to be on the reverse side of the forest picture. I turned it, so it followed the “stripes” of the trees. In the middle is part of an advert for carpets which I “continued” using charcoal and an eraser.
